MEETING A REGIONAL NEED
For years, livestock producers throughout Minnesota have faced limited access to processing facilities, creating bottlenecks and limiting opportunities to market their livestock.
Farmers Union Processing + Meats was developed to help address that need by expanding processing capacity, reducing travel distances for producers, and strengthening local food systems throughout the region.

PROCESSING SERVICES & PRICING
Farmers Union Processing + Meats provides custom-exempt processing services for cattle and hog producers. With slaughter, fabrication, portion cutting, and grinding available in one location, the facility helps producers access quality processing services closer to home while supporting the long-term strength of local agriculture.
*The facility currently offers custom-exempt processing and is working toward USDA certification.

PRICING BREAKDOWN
Beef Pricing:
Slaughter Fee: $65 per head
Processing Fee: $0.92 per pound
Grinding Fee: $0.40 per pound
Pork Pricing:
Slaughter Fee: $45 per head
Processing Fee: $0.92 per pound
Grinding Fee: $0.55 per pound
OUR FACILITY
Farmers Union Processing + Meats is a more than 10,000-square-foot meat processing facility serving cattle and hog producers.
Ground was broken in June 2025 after years of planning and collaboration among agricultural, economic development, and community partners.
